SLN-167/HDBC-004 & SLN-170/HDBC-004 Make Another Great Pair!

The two newest installments of the Hand Dubbed Buddies Club are both out now!  First up, Young Hellions brings us "Singles Still Steady" (SLN-167/HDBC-004) which is a rediscovery of sorts.  Young Hellions were a short lived project featuring Bryce McPherson and Chuck Coffey from Denver, CO and Johnny Miller from Rapid City, SD.  SLN followers know the pedigrees of these ding dongs so we'll skip that here.  The 3 lads had a 36 hour rehearsal/recording session in Rapid City in 2009.  They never played again.  Then in 2012 the 3 songs from the session were unearthed and released digitally for a short time.  Then they went away.  Now it's 2019 and "Singles Still Steady" has been remastered and re-sequenced for it's best sound and release format yet!  Young Hellions may have been brief, but they hold up nicely.  Maybe they'll play again one day?!  Next, we have another contribution from Charlie Continental in the form of "Staycation: The Early SPELLS Demos" (SLN-170/HDBC-005).  This release is fairly self-explanatory, but it features 3 tracks that ol' Charlie had written and demoed in 2012 before the combo known as SPELLS assembled.  It's sort of a fly-on-the-wall treat to hear how a longtime Denver band first began.  Both releases come on Gold Mail Order Edition cassettes with HDBC subscriptions (still available HERE) or can be ordered individually as Gray Open Edition cassettes through our Web Store.  Both releases are also up on our bandcamp and all your favorite digi-streaming sites.  The cassettes are only available directly from us or the bands.  Sorry, thems still club rules!  Now get out there and continue to tell all your friends!  Please.  Thanks.  Pressing Info: SLN-167/HDBC-004 & SLN-170/HDBC-005 - Hand Dubbed Buddies Club custom cassettes (Gold Mail Order Editions or Gray Open Editions). Only available directly from SLN or the artists. Download links included.

Three More Burners Coming Up!

Gosh, is it fall already?!  While we're sad to see summer go, fall has a few new releases hitting the streets and we're psyched about that!  On 10/24/19, Denver death rock champs Weathered Statues will release the "Desolation" EP on cassette/digital.  You can pre-order the cassette HERE and check out a track on our bandcamp sampler.  Weathered Statues features SLN alumni Jason Heller (25 Rifles, The Half Hearts), Bryan Flanagan (25 Rifles) plus longtime Denver heavy hitters Jennie Mather and Justin Lent.  "Desolation" features a suite of tuneful songs that manage to capture a stark bleakness while offering a rich palette of sounds and melodies.  That's impressive!  12/6/19 will see a pair of albums drop from Colorado Springs' premier feminist punk band Cheap Perfume.  Stephanie, Willow, Geoff and Dave have been blowing the roof off of clubs and warehouses across Colorado's front range since 2015 and we couldn't be more pumped to help spread their powerful songs and progressive messages.  Part one of the double header release date is a remastered reissue of their 2016 debut album, "Nailed It" on LP/digital.  It also features updated cover art.  Part two is their brand new album, "Burn It Down" on LP/digital.  While "Nailed It" is a modern Colorado punk classic, "Burn It Down" shows a huge leap forward for the band in both songwriting and performance.  The music blasts with a tighter focus while the lyrics and vocal deliveries are even more impassioned and poignant, making for energetic, anthemic and inspiring repeat listens.  The band is playing a series of release shows in November and show-goers will have a chance to pick up both records early before the official 12/6 street date.  More info on shows and release show goodies to come!

SLN-152 Can Prop Us All Up!

It's finally here!  The debut album from Foxhall Stacks, "The Coming Collapse", is officially out today!  The LP is pressed on sea glass colored vinyl and includes a download code.  You can also download or stream digitally on all your favorite platforms.  By now you've heard all about Foxhall Stacks and their Washington, DC origins and pedigrees.  Here's the thing though...  "The Coming Collapse" transcends all that.  While certainly benefiting from the combined experiences of all the members, the album is a power pop masterpiece that far exceeds the sum of it's parts.  110% was put into the songs on this album and the listener will not only be instantly rewarded, but continually rewarded exponentially on repeat listens.  You can order the LP from our Web Store HERE or grab it digitally via our bandcamp HERE.  The LP will also be distributed by our usual partners at Recess Ops, plus Dischord Direct is helping out as well.  This is a landmark album and we are super stoked to be a part of it.  Order the LP, download the album, listen loud, stream, share and whatever else you like to do with great new music.  This one is a SMASH!!  Pressing Info: 300 12" LP's on sea glass vinyl, download code included.

Another Two Releases Landing Fall 2019!

Summer is gonna start winding down soon, which means cooler weather is coming.  Know what else is cool?  Two more cool SLNQAR releases!  These next two are pretty diverse in sound as well as their stories.  On September 20th, Lost Walks will be releasing "A Taste" as a stereo lathe cut clear 7" with deluxe download.  Lost Walks is a Denver-based group that partners with Rocky Mountain Wolf Project to protect the lives of wolves in the region.  The band has been performing their dark rock opera, "Wolf, Woman, Man" since 2017 with their live shows incorporating additional visual elements and dancers to more fully frame the story.  The stereo lathe cut 7" features two songs from the "Wolf, Woman, Man" album and the deluxe download includes the entire album.  This is a limited item for their fall 2019 tour and we have a few copies available for pre-order in our web store HERE.  Not long after that record comes out, Roka Hueka will release the "Que No Quede Huella b/w Back To You (Version)" 7" on October 18th and will celebrate with a performance at Territorio Liberado 3, an immigrant rights fundraiser and music festival.  Combining traditional and contemporary Latin ska, Denver's Roka Hueka is a band with members originating from Mexico, El Salvador, and the US that formed in 2013. This record is a Community Collaboration project and is fully sponsored by Cereveceria Colorado with 100% of the money raised from the sales of this release benefiting Casa de Paz & Metro Denver Sanctuary Coalition, two organizations dedicated to helping struggling immigrants.  The 7" will be on randomly mixed color vinyl with a download and come housed in our gold company sleeve, plus a red-on-black or black-on-red obi strip with more information about the organizations involved in the project.  We are very excited to be a part of this record and you can pre-order a copy from our web store HERE.  Both of the new releases have tracks on our bandcamp sampler for you to preview.  Thanks for following and we'll be back soon with more details on these records!
