Can't Stop The Presses!

Wow, it's been a banner year for Snappy Little Numbers Quality Audio Recordings!  Thanks to all of our friends and fans for the support.  We'd also like to thank our media pals for the lavish attention they bestowed upon our artists.  There's even been a little bit more that we wanna share with y'all...

The Knew had a Daytrotter Session!  Check that out HERE.  They also got a nice write-up recently over at I Buy Way Too Many Records.

Speaking of I Buy Way Too Many Records, Hooper got an excellent review HERE and made their year-end best list HERE.  As if that's not awesome enough, Westword has Hooper as one of their 2013 Music Moovers and Shakers!

SPELLS made a year-end best list over at the fabulous Literati Records with a track off their debut 7".  Check it HERE.  They also got a couple interviews in with Reverb and Westword ahead of their cassingle release show.  To top it all off, Westword also listed SPELLS as one of their Music Moovers and Shakers for 2013!

To keep the year-end best motif going, check out the Empty Palace spot over at Go Start Your Own Band.

We look forward to sharing the heaps of praise that Glass Hits and SPELLS are sure to get in the new year with their new releases hitting media mailboxes right about now.  Up next on the release schedule is the Shining Wires cassingle and a new Friends Of Cesar Romero 45!

SLN-111 And SLN-113 Have Touched Down!

The new Glass Hits LP "Better Never Than Late" and the new SPELLS Cassingle "Double Cassingle" are officially out right this second!  Go to our STORE and order yourself a pair.  Digi-fans can hit up our bandcamp to grab both releases for a low price.

For Glass Hits, "Better Never Than Late" is a continued culmination of shared vision and punk-rock pedigree. Adding a new taste to an old process, they manage to further explore the ideas and sounds of the 90's underground scene on which they cut their teeth.  The first 100 LP's are on ultra-cool split clear/black vinyl and come in a silk screened/hand stamped outer sleeve that houses the regular jacket too.  Cause Medic Ink did a badass job on them!

As for SPELLS, “Double Cassingle” contains four sure-fire hits that are sure to distract you from the worst 10 minutes of your day and probably turn them into the best 10 minutes of your day.  The cassette tapes are available in a trio of colors.  Life's about choices after all!

Aside from our store, the audio recordings will be hitting Denver shops shortly with distros right behind.  All the finest digi-markets will have the tunes as well.  We're pumped to have our second LP and first Cassette out in the universe. Be sure to see both bands live in concert!  Glass Hits Pressing Info: 100 12" LP's on split clear/black vinyl with silk screened/hand stamped outer sleeves (original jackets inside), 200 12" LP's on black vinyl.  Download code included.  SPELLS Pressing Info: 50 red tapes, 50 green tapes, 100 purple tapes.  Download code included.

New Releases From Glass Hits And SPELLS To Close Out The Year!

It's been a big year for SLN, but we're not quite done.  December 20th will see the release of the new Glass Hits LP titled "Better Never Than Late", as well as a Cassingle by SPELLS simply called "Double Cassingle".  That's right, cassette tapes!  They're still analog so no worries there.  We've updated our sampler with new tracks from both of these pending releases so cruise to the left and rock 'em loud.  More info is coming, but the cover art is posted here and the release show is all set for December 20th at lovely 3 Kings in Denver.  Get pumped folks!

New Bagged Set For Record Store Day Black Friday 2013!

That's right music brethren, the Snappy Little Numbers Quality Audio Recordings "Segundo Y Tercer Años" Bagged Set is being assembled and will roll as a Record Store Day Black Friday 2013 Special that will only be available at Wax Trax and Mutiny Information Cafe in Denver on November 29.  We'll keep a few available directly through our mailorder (for the out-of-towners) while supplies last.  The sets are comprised of our next 4 7"ers since the previous set- Friends Of Cesar Romero "Red Headed Strangler b/w Tammys Of Tomorrow", Empty Palace S/T E.P., The Knew "What's Hip (Long Walk) b/w World War Ay Ay Ay (Alright)" and SPELLS "Take Time/Slice Away".  The standard Retail Editions come in full color high quality off-white sleeves on randomly mixed color vinyl with download codes.  They are a Limited Edition of 20, all hand-numbered.  There are also a small handful of Key Stakeholder Editions that will be handed out to our staff, business partners and a few lucky fans.  The collector catch this year is that there will be four different color variations for the covers- green, orange, blue and purple.  We don't even know how many of each yet!  It is being left to fate (aka the printer) as we type.  True rarities for the collector that could one day pay for a midlife crisis.  Record Store Day is a fun way to support small, independent, local businesses.  We think everyday is a great day for that too.  Many thanks to all of our friends, fans and talented artists that made our second and third years so bitchin'!

Hooper LP Officially Out Now!

We here at Snappy Little Numbers are pumped at the press and features our bands have been a part of lately!  Empty Palace was in R.A.D Vinyl Blog's latest 7 Inch Roundup HERE, plus the EP crew got a great review at Styrofoam Drone HERE.  Westword just published a story on SPELLS that includes an interview with Charlie "Continental" Stimsell.  Check that HERE.  Summer 2013 is blowin' up for SLN so far, stay tuned for more!  Thanks to Ross, Zac, Tom and all our friends and fans out there.

SLN-109 Rules!

SPELLS rules, gang.  Get used to it.  We have, and that's why we're pumped that their Double A-Side 7" Single "Take Time/Slice Away" is now available!  You can order one from us right this second, or drop by the release show this Saturday 6/29 at Lost Lake in Denver.  As a radical side note, Eyes & Ears will be playing the show too!  For the uninitiated, SPELLS is a four-piece rock juggernaut from Denver, CO.  They are vacation rock to be exact.  They produce short blasts of intense melody and driving rhythms that are custom made to entertain the band members themselves and serve as an excuse to go play shows in cities that have beaches nearby.  If your city’s best offers include said beach and a good breakfast joint, count them in.  If the best your city can do is a punk house that smells like cat shit and a Subway restaurant inside a gas station, they will pass.  This hot debut spins at 45 RPM and comes with a download code in our classic gold company sleeve.  They'll be showing up in shops and distros in the near future too.  Pressing Info: 300 on randomly mixed color vinyl

SLN-107 Is Here And Ready To Get Stuck In Your Head!

Officially out now is is the new 7" by The Knew, "What's Hip (Long Walk) b/w World War Ay Ay Ay (Alright)".  The A-Side embraces power-pop sheen with a New Orleans jazz-inflected backbone.  Jacob Hansen's pop-dosed vocals are bolstered by guest horns from Nick Krier and jumpy keys by Patrick Lee.  The B-side is The Knew's boldest release to date. Guitarist Tyler Breuer and bassist Tim Rynders rip forward toward the outer edges of punk. In the fashion of the Minutemen and the Buzzcocks, the jolting track clocks in at just over one minute. Blistering and fresh, it's one for the repeat listen file and another stamp on the Knew's vital record.  It is of course on 7" vinyl and hits your functional turntable at 45 RPM.  Also comes with a download code, all in our highly collectable gold company sleeve.  You can order one (or two or three...) from us right now!  They'll be popping up in shops and distros shortly.  Pressing Info: 300 on randomly mixed color vinyl

SLN-106 Has Landed On Earth!

Some say Judas Priest lost their metal-lovin’ minds when they decided to let synthesizers seep into their sound circa 1985’s Turbo. Empty Palace could not care less. The Los Angeles outfit takes classic metal songcraft, NWOBHM bombast, and the chiseled precision of Reagan (Thatcher?) Era stadium rock—then they ram it down your unsuspecting
throat. But frontman Patrick Houston and drummer Jason Walker (formerly of Denver legends Brainhammer and Angels Never Answer, among sundry other acts of sonic tomfoolery) don’t stop there. Lo and behold, the group’s debut EP blends the mythopoeic majesty of ’80s Blue Öyster Cult—yeah, the new-wave sounding stuff that’s way, way better than you remember—with melody, dynamism, and even hints of balladry. Like the iron fist of an android knight, it pummels with the single-minded purity of deathless life. Call it turbo-injected, if you wish. Produced by Toshi Kasai (ex-Big Business).  This Self-Titled EP comes on 7" vinyl, spins at 33 1/3 RPM and comes housed in a custom sleeve.  Download Code included.  Order through us right now!  Stores and distros will be getting them soon and the band will have a release show next month in LA, CA.
Pressing Info: 300 on randomly mixed color vinyl

Please Welcome The Knew!

Yes indeed, The Knew is coming on board for a brand new 45RPM 7" Single.  We sure are glad to have 'em too!  The soon-to-be A-Side, "What's Hip (Long Walk)", is a bouncy tune that brings to mind mid-70's power-pop with some proto-punk/pub-rock influence.  Simply stated, it's catchy!  Stream it on our SoundCloud widget or visit bandcamp to download it with our freshly updated sampler!  The Single will be out in June, shortly after the Empty Palace EP lands and a little before the SPELLS Single drops.  It's gonna be a busy summer!

Another Choice Addition To The Team!

It's 'Talent Grab 2013' over here at SLN HQ!  Hot on the heels of announcing the addition of SPELLS, we are pleased as punch to welcome Empty Palace from Los Angeles, CA.  That's right folks, perfectly sunny 24/7 LA.  Empty Palace features the core duo of Patrick Houston and Jason Walker (formerly of Denver legends Brainhammer and Angels Never Answer) and a recently solidified lineup of ultra-capable mates.  Think New Wave Of British Heavy Metal with a Deep Purple influence and future-punk sheen and that's where Empty Palace settles into the sound spectrum.  We'll be issuing their Toshi Kasai-produced debut EP this Spring.  Last post we mentioned garage wunderkinds SPELLS coming aboard, but didn't say too much about 'em.  They're a little reclusive, but we got a hold of a publicity photo so you can meet the boys: Lil' Stevie Shithead, Charlie 'Continental' Stimsell, Duke 'Box' Standard and Pete Bohner.  You can get a sample of tunes by SPELLS and Empty Palace via our updated SoundCloud widget or Bandcamp sampler.  Be sure to visit their websites through the links on our sidebar too.  Cheers!
