SLN-119 Has Danced It's Way Here!

The debut Cassingle "Squeeze b/w W.H.I.D.?" from pxlman is out now!  Squeeze is electropop at it’s finest.  Layered, driving and catchy as hell.  W.H.I.D.? is dense and manic.  It ramps up until all hell breaks loose.  This debut release just hints at what this band can do, but in the meantime just play, flip, play and repeat.  The new pxlman Cassingle can be ordered through our store HERE in a variety of colors and they all come with download codes.  The digi-version is on our bandcamp HERE.  You can pick up a copy at our favorite Denver area stores too and they'll be hitting distros and e-markets shortly.  It's a toe-tapper and ass-shaker, so get on it!  Pressing Info: 50 blue cassette tapes, 50 lime green cassette tapes, 50 pink cassette tapes, 50 goldenrod cassette tapes. Download code included.

We're Branching Out With pxlman's "Squeeze b/w W.H.I.D.?" Cassingle!

Get out your dancing shoes and get ready to get on board with the first release from Denver's own pxlman!  The "Squeeze b/w W.H.I.D.?" Cassingle will be released on April 23rd with a (debut!) show at the Hi-Dive that will feature labelmates SPELLS as well as a DJ set by Julian Church.  Check out Squeeze on our label sampler to the left for a taste of pxlman's infectious nature.  pxlman may seem like a bit of a departure for SLN, but Randy and Gracie are supremely DIY and huge supporters and creators of all sorts of music.  Plus, it's dance music that rocks.  Sounds like a pretty good fit to us!

Warm Spring Reviews For Mako1972 And SPELLS!

The reviews keep coming in on our talented artists and for good reason... they're rad!  Our pals over at the 7 Inches blog gave the ace treatment to both the Mako1972 "Cannonball Lecture b/w Even Ghosts Perish" 7" and the SPELLS "At Sea/Land Locked" 7" EP.  See their takes on Mako1972 HERE and SPELLS HERE.  Mako1972 also got a nice write up on their debut 7" by Tim PopKid at I Buy Way Too Many Records Dot Com and you can read that HERE.  We appreciate the quality journalism and everyone needs to keep up with these blogs!

Time To Officially Welcome pxlman To The Family!

We've hinted at it, but now it's time to officially welcome the excellent pxlman to the SLN family.  pxlman is an electropoprock outfit out of Denver, CO.  This two piece band lays down a grinding foundation of thick kicks and arpeggiating synths, then layers on distorted organs and horns that lend to a complex take on the electropop genre.  Front man and songwriter Randy M. Washington brings to the band over a decade of writing electronic music, most notably, fronting the German electropop band Total Ghost.  Balancing the scale on the other side is DJ and visual designer Gracie McGuire.  Fueled with years of work on the road as a tour consultant for a handful of bands, she joined with the focus of taking the duo well beyond their home base of Denver.  If the beginning of this band's career is indicative of anything, they are sure to perk ears, turn heads and blaze trails for a long time to come.  Their debut cassingle on SLN is due out April 23rd.  More on that soon!
