Cassettes! News!

We're still adding to our Snappy Little Distro.  We've now expanded to include cassettes!  You know, tapes.  Radical!  Visit our Store and check 'em out.  Included are some of our favourite Canadian bands like The White Wires and The Ketamines, courtesy of Hosehead Records.  We also have a couple selections by Thee Oh Sees by way of Burger Records.  In other news, it's looking like 25 Rifles will be doing their own single and that we'll be doing something else with Glass Hits.  More on that later.  We have a couple other things in the works for next year but you'll have to wait until 2013 for further details.  Thanks friends and fans!

Friends Of Cesar Romero Stuff!

Here comes more licks and kicks from the formidable catalog of J. Waylon Miller as he and his band of below-fi royalty, Friends of Cesar Romero, release their third album of the year. The ten track basement opus, "Zeppelin Three (or How I Spent My Bummer Vacation)", is a mixed bag of pop-offs, proving that JWM is what we talk about when we talk about range.  Grab it at their bandcamp site HERE.  In other FOCR business, check out this bitchin' review of the "Red Headed Strangler b/w Tammys Of Tomorrow" 7" courtesy of Razorcake.  That's it for now folks!

Hey We Got Stickers Now!

That's right, you read correctly.  We have a fresh batch of classy looking stickers designed by our very own Art Director, Jennifer Callaway-Dewey.  As you can see they are quite sharp, 3" circle style.  How can you get one you ask?  Just order some of our hit records and one (maybe more!) will be included, along with one of our most recent advert-card type things we mentioned awhile back.  You might see some floating around Denver record stores like Wax Trax in the near future too.  Also, if you see Chuck out and about maybe you can bug him for a couple.  Start thinking of all the ways you'll be able to deck out your room, locker, whatevs with SLN paraphernalia!

Great New LP's Just Added To The Distro!

We're continuing to add to our Snappy Little Distro!  Aside from already having records from such fantastic labels as Dirtnap, Grave Mistake, Strictly No Capital Letters, Paco Garden etc... we've just added a slew of LP's courtesy of Midwest titans Dead Beat Records.  Head over to our Store and check out the offerings from TRMRS, Uzi Rash, Dead Germans (ex-Digital Leather/Brimstone Howl) and many more.  We plan to keep building the distro and our shipping prices are still capped at $3.50 per order.  What a deal!

Bandcamp Revamp: All Our Releases, More Titles In The Archives!

We just revamped our bandcamp site to include digital versions of all our releases!  While we are big vinyl fans and think lots of you are too, we wanted to be able to offer our titles for download at very friendly pricing.  Our records will continue to come with download codes, but if you just want the tunes they're just a click away!  While we were at it, we posted more true Denver classics in the Snappy Little Archives/Not Bad Historical Preservation Society.  After many inquiries, "Put 'Er There" from Denver legends Qualm is finally available digitally.  Also included is the self-titled EP by Still Left Standing and "Dead Scene" by The Messyhairs.  Those two were originally released by our old pal Johnny via his Seven Lucky Records imprint.  We also posted the first Mustangs And Madras EP.  See and hear all the recent doings HERE.  In the coming months we're going to keep going and get some Paco Garden Records titles up too.  Thanks-a-plenty folks, talk at y'all later!

New Records In The Distro!

You may have noticed that we created a Snappy Little Store over the summer. Part of the store includes our Snappy Little Distro and we've slowly been adding titles. The latest batch warrants a post though. We have finally added some 7"s from one of Denver's most legendary labels, Paco Garden Records! Paco Garden was a Denver fixture throughout most of the 90's and early 00's and released records by some fantastic bands like Four! and The Messyhairs. Not Bad World Industries inherited the catalog from pal and PG owner Dave awhile back and now we have what's left. Cruise on over to the store and pick out an old fave to catch up on! We've also printed off a round of new posters and flyers featuring the Snappy Little Numbers catalog. We'll toss in a cool full-color flyer with any order as well as some of the usual extras we like to throw on top of an order before we seal and ship. It's always a good time for record buyin' and we appreciate it when you buy from us!

Awesome New Addition To The Archives!

Fresh up in the Snappy Little Archives is a gem of a release.  "Caution:Bang" is the final recording from Denver's late, great Mustangs And Madras.  Go HERE to check it out.  The four tunes were originally recorded in 2010 for a potential split with another band on their then-label, Latest Flame. It didn't materialize, 'Stangs broke up and these tunes are now seeing the light of day as a digi-EP through our Archives.  Members have gone on to Native Daughters and Pink Hawks among other things.  Classic stuff from a great band!

New Stuff On The Horizon!

The logo to the right serves as a little hint about what's coming up later this year.  25 Rifles and Glass Hits will be doing a split 7" EP together and we are quite excited.  25 Rifles issued their first 7" EP through us last year to rave reviews and we are totally psyched to welcome Denver's post-punk powerhouse Glass Hits to our roster of stars.  Check out their track on our widget and sampler.  More info on the split later on.  In other news, we've added the Snappy Little Store for your shopping needs and it includes our Snappy Little Distro to boot.  Browse around and pick up a little something if you feel like it.  Finally, Hooper has been in the studio recording new material.  We're not sure what it will yield, but we're sure it will be rad and we hope to be involved in some sort of stellar release.  Until next time folks!

Friends Of Cesar Romero Single On The Styrofoam Drone!

"Red Headed Strangler b/w Tammys Of Tomorrow" by Friends Of Cesar Romero is the latest 7" featured on one of our very favorite music blogs, The Styrofoam Drone.  Hop on over to check out the review.  The direct link is HERE.  You might note further down in the review that J. Waylon's 'johnny girl' falsetto on "Tammys Of Tomorrow" was highly effective.  Much appreciation to Zac for the continued support and good taste!  We'd also like to thank everyone that has made the FOCR single such a success thus far.  We've got a couple records in the works for this Fall but we'll have to wait a bit before we can share our plans.  Until then, enjoy the rest of the summer!

SLN-105 Has Bopped It's Way Here!

With the shake of a tambourine and a quake of the pelvis, our 1st single of 2012 is now out!  "Red Headed Strangler b/w Tammys Of Tomorrow" by Friends Of Cesar Romero cranks on any functional turntable at 45 RPM.  It is of course on 7" vinyl and comes with a download code, all in our highly collectable gold company sleeve.  You can order one (or two or three...) from us right now!  They'll be popping up in shops and distros shortly.  FOCR have devolved the electric-guitar beat-combo into a thing of pants-shitting Neanderthal beauty. Pounding, menacing, snarling, and unaccustomed to flowery futuristic bullshit, the gang’s anthemic onslaught is ready to biff-bang-pow its way into your heart. Be sure to catch them on tour right now.  For our Denver neighbors, come down to the good ol' Loose (Lost) Lake on Friday 7/27 for their Rocky Mountain debut and Record Release Party!  Pressing Info: 300 on randomly mixed color vinyl

The punk rock print and web institution know as Razorcake recently featured not one, but two bitchin' reviews of the "Messin' Around" single by The Manxx.  We already know that every record we release is a smash, but it's quite nice when others take notice.  The review by contributor Bryan Static can be found HERE, while the review by super-punk-rock-famous contributor Rev Norb (Boris The Sprinkler anyone?) can be found HERE.  Thanks Razorcakers!

Another New Digi-Single Hits The Archives!

"Silver Ceiling" is a new digi-single by a new act, On Holiday.  Filed under Modern Classics, Snappy Little Archives is branching out to include digi-only releases by current artists.  Jenny Calgary and Charlie Continental make up the duo that is On Holiday.  They occasionally gather to dabble in lo-fi electro-pop-whatever and "Silver Ceiling" is the earliest result.  Head HERE to check it out.  You might notice there isn't a song called Silver Ceiling.  We think that might be On Holiday's "thing" when naming releases.  We like it.  The trusty crew at SLN will be sure to holler when we have another Modern Classic to share.  iMuchas Gracias!

Spring News Blurb!

We hope everyone had fun on Record Store Day!  We sure did.  You'll notice we've added the El Primer Año set to the sales column.  We saved a couple so those that don't live near Wax Trax can grab one.  Our newest roster addition, Friends Of Cesar Romero, have finished recording for their Snappy Little Numbers debut Single!  We are so excited!  Check out the demo track that we've added to our Soundcloud Widget.  We've also updated the Snappy Little Sampler on bandcamp to include FOCR.  Look for the Single to hit early summer.  They also just released a new digi-album so go to their site for more info.  In more band news, 25 Rifles is back in action!  They'll be playing a couple shows over the summer and have plans to record new stuff.  Before we go, we have some new retail partners.  You can now get our records in the Denver area at Black & Read.  We've also added UK distribution through our new friends at Strictly No Capital Letters.  They rule.  OK, this seems like plenty of news for now.  Talk at y'all later!

RSD 2012 Bagged Set Lowdown!

OK music aficionados, here's the lowdown on the Snappy Little Numbers Quality Audio Recordings "El Primer Año" Bagged Set.  Yep, we're going with "bagged" since it's not really "boxed".  As previously mentioned, these sets are a Record Store Day 2012 Special that will only be available at Wax Trax in Denver on April 21 and directly through our mailorder (we'll have a couple for the out-of-towners) while supplies last.  The sets are comprised of our first 4 releases- Eyes & Ears/Snake Mountain "Split Single", 25 Rifles "History Of Flags" E.P., The Manxx "Messin' Around b/w Hard Lessons" and Hooper "The Shallows b/w 100 Acre Slingshot".  The standard Retail Editions come in gold sparkle sleeves with download codes.  They are a Limited Edition of 20, all hand-numbered.  There are also a small handful of Key Stakeholder Editions that will be handed out to our staff, business partners and a few lucky fans.  These will pop up in the aforementioned gold sparkle sleeves as well as silver sparkle, white pearl and rose pearl sleeves.  True rarities for the collector.  We can only assume that the future worth of the Retail Editions could pay for someone to go through college and that the Key Stakeholder Editions could pay for a private island.  Record Store Day is a fun way to support small, independent, local businesses.  We think everyday is a great day for that too.  Many thanks to all of our friends and fans that made our first year so awesome!

Three New Rippers Up On The Archives!

There is a brand new digi-single in the Snappy Little Archives courtesy of the Young Hellions.  Young Hellions was (is?) comprised of salty rock vets from outfits such as The Reddmen, Snake Mountain and Eyes & Ears.  Legend has it that one snowy weekend in December 2009 Bryce "The Beast" McPherson and Chuck "Papa Bear" Coffey went to Rapid City to start a cross-state project with Johnny "J. Waylon Porcupine" Miller. They gathered for 36 hours and recorded 3 songs with Bryce on vocals/guitar, Chuck on bass/vocals and Johnny on drums/vocals. After a celebratory dinner, Bryce and Chuck drove off into the night back to Denver. The end. Or is it?!  Go HERE to have a listen.

Hey, It's 2012! We've Got Some New Gadgets. Oh, And Music Plans!

Welcome to the future, now!  You might have noticed our new Facebook and Twitter icon-type things.  Our corporate consultants said we had to have them to stay competitive in the marketplace.  We said "Huh?  Sure, whatevs.  Those seem OK."  We're gonna try and do more with Twitter so get with us on that.  Not only are we freshly tech savvy, but we have a new band we'll be working with this year.  Please give a warm round of applause to Friends Of Cesar Romero!  FOCR features our longtime friend and former leader of The Reddmen, J. Waylon Porcupine.  He's recently relocated to Phoenix, AZ and has recorded a demo solo and hired some professional side-men for live concerts. Go download the demo for free on Bandcamp!  A new single should see the light of day sometime this spring.  We have more plans in the works but that must wait until next time!
