More Well Deserved Attention!

Keep it comin' journalist types!  We are totally psyched that the positive coverage of our acts keep rolling in.  Our buddy Michael Tau recently moved his Teenage Rage column to Decoder Magazine and wrote up a great piece on the records we've released over the last year.  Read it HEREThe Knew also received a bitchin' spot in the Styrofoam Drone recently, hot on the heels of Empty Palace.  That one is HERE.  Lots of folks out there have great taste!

Start The Summer Presses!

We here at Snappy Little Numbers are pumped at the press and features our bands have been a part of lately!  Empty Palace was in R.A.D Vinyl Blog's latest 7 Inch Roundup HERE, plus the EP crew got a great review at Styrofoam Drone HERE.  Westword just published a story on SPELLS that includes an interview with Charlie "Continental" Stimsell.  Check that HERE.  Summer 2013 is blowin' up for SLN so far, stay tuned for more!  Thanks to Ross, Zac, Tom and all our friends and fans out there.

SLN-109 Rules!

SPELLS rules, gang.  Get used to it.  We have, and that's why we're pumped that their Double A-Side 7" Single "Take Time/Slice Away" is now available!  You can order one from us right this second, or drop by the release show this Saturday 6/29 at Lost Lake in Denver.  As a radical side note, Eyes & Ears will be playing the show too!  For the uninitiated, SPELLS is a four-piece rock juggernaut from Denver, CO.  They are vacation rock to be exact.  They produce short blasts of intense melody and driving rhythms that are custom made to entertain the band members themselves and serve as an excuse to go play shows in cities that have beaches nearby.  If your city’s best offers include said beach and a good breakfast joint, count them in.  If the best your city can do is a punk house that smells like cat shit and a Subway restaurant inside a gas station, they will pass.  This hot debut spins at 45 RPM and comes with a download code in our classic gold company sleeve.  They'll be showing up in shops and distros in the near future too.  Pressing Info: 300 on randomly mixed color vinyl

SLN-107 Is Here And Ready To Get Stuck In Your Head!

Officially out now is is the new 7" by The Knew, "What's Hip (Long Walk) b/w World War Ay Ay Ay (Alright)".  The A-Side embraces power-pop sheen with a New Orleans jazz-inflected backbone.  Jacob Hansen's pop-dosed vocals are bolstered by guest horns from Nick Krier and jumpy keys by Patrick Lee.  The B-side is The Knew's boldest release to date. Guitarist Tyler Breuer and bassist Tim Rynders rip forward toward the outer edges of punk. In the fashion of the Minutemen and the Buzzcocks, the jolting track clocks in at just over one minute. Blistering and fresh, it's one for the repeat listen file and another stamp on the Knew's vital record.  It is of course on 7" vinyl and hits your functional turntable at 45 RPM.  Also comes with a download code, all in our highly collectable gold company sleeve.  You can order one (or two or three...) from us right now!  They'll be popping up in shops and distros shortly.  Pressing Info: 300 on randomly mixed color vinyl

Check Out Our Features On Literati Records!

We were lucky enough to be the featured label on Literati Records this week!  Literati Records covers local music via podcast.  We were exclusively featured on Local Mix Monday, plus Chuck did an interview with our new friend Mark about the label that posted the next day.  To close out the week Mark aired a piece on SPELLS and an interview with Charlie "Continental" Stimsell.  Pretty good week!  Big thanks to Mark The Shark!  To go back and listen to any of the above, follow these links: SLN's Local Mix Monday, SLN Interview/Feature, SPELLS Interview/Feature.

SLN-106 Has Landed On Earth!

Some say Judas Priest lost their metal-lovin’ minds when they decided to let synthesizers seep into their sound circa 1985’s Turbo. Empty Palace could not care less. The Los Angeles outfit takes classic metal songcraft, NWOBHM bombast, and the chiseled precision of Reagan (Thatcher?) Era stadium rock—then they ram it down your unsuspecting
throat. But frontman Patrick Houston and drummer Jason Walker (formerly of Denver legends Brainhammer and Angels Never Answer, among sundry other acts of sonic tomfoolery) don’t stop there. Lo and behold, the group’s debut EP blends the mythopoeic majesty of ’80s Blue Öyster Cult—yeah, the new-wave sounding stuff that’s way, way better than you remember—with melody, dynamism, and even hints of balladry. Like the iron fist of an android knight, it pummels with the single-minded purity of deathless life. Call it turbo-injected, if you wish. Produced by Toshi Kasai (ex-Big Business).  This Self-Titled EP comes on 7" vinyl, spins at 33 1/3 RPM and comes housed in a custom sleeve.  Download Code included.  Order through us right now!  Stores and distros will be getting them soon and the band will have a release show next month in LA, CA.
Pressing Info: 300 on randomly mixed color vinyl

Please Welcome The Knew!

Yes indeed, The Knew is coming on board for a brand new 45RPM 7" Single.  We sure are glad to have 'em too!  The soon-to-be A-Side, "What's Hip (Long Walk)", is a bouncy tune that brings to mind mid-70's power-pop with some proto-punk/pub-rock influence.  Simply stated, it's catchy!  Stream it on our SoundCloud widget or visit bandcamp to download it with our freshly updated sampler!  The Single will be out in June, shortly after the Empty Palace EP lands and a little before the SPELLS Single drops.  It's gonna be a busy summer!
